Other Dogs
In Need of Homes
                                         

ARF members and friends are actively rescuing abandoned companion animals all the time. They are cared for in their rescuer's homes until a permanent home can be found.

There are sometimes circumstances that prevent owners from keeping their pets. ARF wants to help find these pets new homes.  These dogs are not "for sale", but simply need good new homes.  These dogs will be listed for 60 days ONLY.  It will be the responsibility of the owner/rescuer to renew the listing. 

All animals posted must be spayed/neutered unless too young.  (We do occasionally post those not spayed/neutered if we feel it is an urgent situation to benefit the dog.)

ARF is not responsible for the cost of  vaccinations, spay or neuter or any other costs associated with the animals listed on this web page!

If you are having a behavior problem with your dog, PLEASE first try to correct or modify the behavior before just trying to find another home for the dog!

If you don't see the dog you're looking for below, be sure to check out http://www.petfinder.com whereby you can search by breed in your local area of rescue organizations.

ARF tips on finding a new home for an animal:

* Tell EVERYONE you know that you are trying to find a home for the animal - family, friends, neighbors, business contacts, school mates - everyone!

* Email a picture with description to ARF at arfok@sbcglobal.net or send via snail mail to P.O. Box 3292, Bartlesville, OK 74006 to request a posting on this web site, and update the information every 60 days.

* Call ARF at 918-766-0991 and leave a description of the animal with contact name and number, along with permission to publish the info on this web site.

* Post a picture and description at your veterinarian's office.

* Call KWON 1400AM radio (336-1400) to advertise the animal on Consumer Calls weekday mornings from 9:10am - 9:30am and Saturdays from 9:10am to Noon.

* Place an ad in the local newspaper.

* Post a picture and description at your church, school, work place or other places you frequent..

Bassett Mix
S/F, possibly with Dalmatian, 6 months to one year old, 26#, white, black and tan, small ears.  Dog was adopted from SPCA recently and the wife is now allergic.  Likes being around people, whines if not able to see you; quite calm; has had shots including rabies; partially potty pad trained; prefers to be outside; seems to be a little hard of hearing.  Dog's name is Lola and the contact is Darcie Jardot, 440-2833.  (6/14/10)

 

Bassett/German Shepherd

Dachshund/Lab Mix

Mix Breed (Pointer?) and Labradoodle
Mixed breed, "Lily" (above left), S/F, 7-8 yrs old, sweet, best in home with adult or no children, owner went into nursing home and will not be returning home.  Caller is feeding/watering while trying to find a home.  "Lilly" has a companion named "Charlie", which is a male Labradoodle estimated 2 yrs old, but has not been neutered.  "Charlie" loves attention and needs a home with kids and other dogs.  Neighbors don't think either has ever been to a vet nor have they ever had a bath.  Looking for a foster home, permanent home or help of any kind with vaccinations and vet visit.  If you can help, please call Melissa Ward, 918-237-7875 or email melward54@aol.com.  (8/31/10)

Staffordshire Terrier (Pit Bull)
"Sister", S/F, very pretty with yellow eyes.  She loves to play and run - she needs a big yard or to be out in the country. She know basic comands, .  she likes other dogs,  does not like cats.  She very lovable. she really needs a good home.
