Other Dogs
In Need of Homes 
                                         

ARF members and friends are actively rescuing abandoned companion animals all the time. They are cared for in their rescuer's homes until a permanent home can be found.

There are sometimes circumstances that prevent owners from keeping their pets. ARF wants to help find these pets new homes.  These dogs are not "for sale", but simply need good new homes.  These dogs will be listed for 60 days ONLY.  It will be the responsibility of the owner/rescuer to renew the listing. 

All animals posted must be spayed/neutered unless too young.  (We do occasionally post those not spayed/neutered if we feel it is an urgent situation to benefit the dog.)

ARF is not responsible for the cost of  vaccinations, spay or neuter or any other costs associated with the animals listed on this web page!

If you are having a behavior problem with your dog, PLEASE first try to correct or modify the behavior before just trying to find another home for the dog!

ARF tips on finding a new home for an animal:

* Send a picture with description to ARF, P.O. Box 3292, Bartlesville, OK 74006 to request a posting on this web site, and update the information every 60 days.

* Call ARF at 918-766-0991 and leave a description of the animal with contact name and number, along with permission to publish on this web site.

* Post a picture and description at your veterinarian's office.

* Call KWON 1400AM radio (336-1400) to advertise the animal on Consumer Calls weekday mornings from 9:10am - 9:30am and Saturdays from 9:10am to Noon.

* Post a picture and description at your church or work place.

OTHER DOGS NEEDING HOMES (by Number & Breed)

Aussie Mix ***needs temporary home for 1 month***
Needs Temporary Home - Margaret Toth, 336-3655, has an Aussie mix dog, 4 years old, N/M, housebroken and gets along with other dogs very well that needs to find a place to go for about a month.  Mrs. Toth is going into the nursing home and says she will be back out in a month and wants the dog back.  She is on social security and cannot afford to kennel the dog while she is away.  (2/3/08)

Bassett Mix
Basset Hound mix - n/m and is 8 years old. A really good dog, but does not get along with children.  She will probably take him to the SPCA.  Leola Holdiman 918-535-2428.  (4/14/08)

Boxer
N/M Neutered male Boxer about 1 year old. Name is "Casino".  Very good with children but not too good with other dogs.  Dog has been rescued once and so caller wants him to go to a loving home. Kim Bright 918-287-3727.  Kim now has 3 kids and she cannot give him the attention he needs.  (3/11/08)
Catahoula Leopard Mix (email rec'd)
This gentle giant wanders a car lot with a few other strays as their home.  This dog has never shown any aggression and seems to get along well with other dogs.  He needs to be rescued.  Call Qinton and Betty (car lot owners), 405-272-0202 or Naomi at 405-808-0595.

2 German Shepherds

Golden Lab

"Nita" has been a companion to a street kid in Tulsa for quite some time.  Nita's companion is going to Michigan and cannot take her on the bus, so a friend has taken Nita in until a good home can be found.  She knows her name, she knows "No", comes to a whistle, just now getting the idea of using the bathroom outside, 1 year old female with an appmt to be spayed.  She loves chew toys and chew rope.  She can jumb a chain link fence--will need privacy fence.  Would make good tracking dog.  Call Steve Eberle, Tulsa, 918-587-7222 or email eberlon.734@gmail.com.  (3/15/08)

Cocker/Brittany Spaniel/Setter or Pointer (?) puppies (above) found abandoned in barn - 6 male and 1 female. Rescuer is putting them into the Pet Adoption League (PAL) program in Tulsa. The cost is $100 per pup, which includes fixing the puppy and all puppy shots. They will have shots due again in 3 weeks. Rat Terrier

Rottweiler
N/M, 3 years old.  Very sweet but moving in with in-laws and she cannot keep.  She rescued this dog, fixed his hurt leg and really wants him to go to a good home.  She tried calling the Rott rescue but they have not returned her calls.  Jamie 405-708-2292.  She lives in Norman but will drive him anywhere for placement.  (5/5/08)
