Lost & Found Pets

The following animals have been reported to ARF as being Lost or Found. If you have any information concerning these animals that might be helpful in reuniting them with their owners, please call ARF at 766-0991.

If your animal is lost, please let ARF know and don't forget to report it to the Washington County SPCA at 336-1577! Other things you can do is place a classified ad in the Examiner-Enterprise (335-8200) or run an ad on Cable One (333-9611). You can post notices at local veterinarian offices. If your pet is injured or sick, the rescuer will most likely seek veterinary care.

Also listen to KWON Radio 1400 AM, KYFM 100 or KRIG 6 days a week for their Dog Gone report that airs at various times throughout the day. To report a lost/found pet, visit their web site, complete and submit the "dog gone" form at the bottom of the page describing the lost/found pet. You can also fax the info to the radio stations at (918) 336-6939.

Found (reported 6/16): Great Pyrenees - male- found in the downtown area. Tia Edwards 440-9205.

Found (reported 6/16): White Corgi un/male dog. Found on road 1300 near the cemetery. Dog is white with brown ears and head. No tail. Very docile adult dog. Mary Friend 534-3721

Lost (reported 6-15): Yellow Lab named "Ellie" about 2 years old - no collar - very friendly lost in the Osage Hills School area. Dara Schmitt 214-5411

Last seen 6-15, 7:25am - Corner of Spruce and Tuxedo a reddish colored dog (Irish Setter mix?) with long hair on belly, legs and tail weighing about 50 or 60 pounds. NO COLLAR, NO TAG. Animal Control was called, but not on duty until 8am. Caller didn't have a place to hold the dog, so gave the dog food, water and said a prayer for it's safe return home (had to go to work).

Found 5-11: Two dogs north of Dewey--Boxer/Pit mix and the other is a small black Terrier mix. Sheriff has been called. Rescuer is disabled and unable to handle dogs. K. Bohanan 534-3441.

Lost 3-15: Rusty brown colored male Pomeranian on Pathfinder Parkway near Bartlesville High School. May still have red retractable leash attached to his pawprint collar. Name is "BearBear", 15 mos old, may be mud splattered, dirty and injured. The owner had a bike wreck on her three wheeled bike and got dumped into a muddy pond on pathfinder and the dog was riding in the basket attached to the front. Found (reported 2-16): Boxer or Pit Bull pup, 4 mos old, found on 2-14 on Wisconsin Street (near John Deere dealership between B'ville and Dewey). Ears not cropped, white with small amount of brown on her face. "Timber" - LOST 1/10/09 in Oklahoma along I40 - see letter below...

My name is Maria Appleby and I write to you from Champaign, IL. on behalf of personal friends (The Hensleys). They are a military family lodged in temporary housing at Nellis AFB in California. Enroute to their new duty station, they lost their dog. Below is a note from Amanda and a picture of Timber. Amanda's contact number is also included. Right now they have no internet access save at the base library. Thank you for your time.

On the way to Las Vegas, somewhere between Little Rock Arkansas and wherever we stopped in Oklahoma (about 2 1/2-3 hours after we started driving from Little Rock) travelling West along I-40, the back of our dog's kennel busted and he must have jumped out. We discovered he was missing at around 6:30am on Saturday January 10th, 2009.

Timber is chipped, but as we just got it done a couple days before we left it is not yet registered. It is in the process of being registered.

Timber is a 6 y/o , 109 Lb Native American Indian Dog. He is brown, white, and black, and he looks very much like a wolf. He is wearing a wide black collar with no tags (his collar with the tags slipped off and was in the kennel) and also a choke chain.

*We are pretty sure he jumped as we were exiting the interstate because his kennel was secured to the trailer we were pulling and it was at the front of the trailer. If he had jumped when we were driving the wind would have been so strong that he wouldn't have been able to jump clear of the trailer, and there was no evidence (no hair, blood, anything) that he was hit by the trailer.
