Ruby - S/F
Ruby is a Viszla mix (?) with a gentle spirit and a permanent smile.  She is very loving, is housebroken and uses a doggie door.  She loves other dogs and children.  Ruby is the mom of Shadow and Socks (both shown below).  They were rescued from a sad situation in the country along with 5 other pups who have all found new homes.  Ruby has been in ARF's foster care program for 2 years (as of 7/2010) as her person just hasn't found her yet.  She will make someone a wonderful companion.  Please call ARF at 918-766-0991 if you would like to meet Ruby.

Shepherd/Border Collie (?) Mix - "Molly" - ADOPTED!!
Molly born approximately 10/23/09.  She was found/rescued when just a little pup on Okesa Road and taken to WCSPCA on 1/21/10 where she was adopted the following day after being spayed.  Molly spent every day all alone in an empty bedroom, in a crate that had finally become too small. She only got to go outside once a day to use the bathroom.  She had limited access to food and water unless she was let out of the crate to eat.  She was surrendered to ARF on 5/15/10 and went to her first foster home.  Check out Molly's first taste of freedom from life in a crate.

Molly is a very sweet girl that has LOTS of energy.  She's learning all sorts of things including what other dogs are all about.  She's the perfect age for training and is eager to work and learn.  She just needs routine, structure and lots of toys!  She loves balls, squeaky toys, eating ice cubes, playing in the water hose and loves to run.  She is currently living in a foster home with 3 other dogs, but they can't match her energy level.  She is housebroken and uses a doggie door.  Molly has been spayed, has received vaccinations, is on heartworm preventative and is ready for her forever home.  If you would like to meet Molly, please call ARF at 918-766-0991 for an appointment.

Husky/Shepherd Mix - "Sitka" (not available for adoption until Ruby has been adopted!)
Sitka is a 8-9 yr old (as of 2010) S/F who's owner passed away several years ago.  Sitka and her doggy companion "Boy" (Lab mix) have been in ARF's foster care since their owner's death.  Last year Sitka also lost her doggy companion "Boy".  Sitka prefers women to men as her owner was an elderly lady.  She is a bit skittish, but once she gets to know you she is a real love.  She loves to take you on a walk (yes, she pulls!).  Not sure how she is with cats, but she gets along with other dogs well.  She's been in foster care with Ruby, shown below.  They both so desperately deserve a real home and family to love them.  Call ARF if you would like to meet Sitka at 918-766-0991.

Yorkie/Poodle Mix--ADOPTED!! "Aimee", S/F, weighs about 3 pounds, looks like a Yorkie, born December 28th.  Dog was purchased by an elderly lady that can no longer care for her as "she doesn't mind and acts too much like a puppy".

Chihuahua Mix - "Jack Benny" aka Freddy - ADOPTED!!
This little guy was rescued after being hit by a car on 3/19 out by the Research Center.  He had a concussion and was badly bruised all over, lucky to be alive.  After a couple of weeks of vet care, he is feeling much better.  He has received vaccinations, has been neutered and has been treated for heartworms. He is very timid and still trying to figure out if he should trust anyone.  Jack is between 1-2 yrs old and weighs 11 lbs.  He needs some TLC.  Call ARF at 918-766-0991.

Miniature Schnauzer "Gucci" - ADOPTED!!
Gucci was rescued from the middle of Hwy 60 outside Nowata, unable to move.  He was taken to a local vet's office who determined one of his front legs were useless and one of his back legs broken and in need of surgery (femur - required a pin).  He was estimated to be only 5 months old.  He has received his vaccinations and heartworm test.  He has recovered from surgery (pin not removed yet) and is such a happy little sweetheart!  The vet determined the injuries to the front leg were several weeks old.  We are guessing he may have been a puppy mill puppy (reported in that area) that was dumped or even thrown from a vehicle.

Socks - N/M ADOPTED!! Socks is a Border Collie mixed with Viszla Mix (Ruby's pup), very outgoing and quite a character!  He is very bonded with his pack and curious about everything.

Shadow - N/M ADOPTED!! Shadow is a Border Collie mixed with Viszla Mix (Ruby's pup) and has a very gentle/timid personality.  He is laid back and just wants to be your buddy.  Shadow walks well on a leash.

Molly--ADOPTED!! Molly needs a new home because her human dad is sick and will be spending a lot of time visiting MD Anderson for cancer treatments which doesn't leave time for her.  She's a Border Collie Mix, 1-2 yrs old, housebroken and weighs about 35 lbs.  Molly has always been a house dog companion.  She is currently in a foster home while we try to find her a great new home.  If you'd like to meet Molly, please call ARF at 918-766-0991.  (12/14/09)

Riley--ADOPTED!! We're not sure of the breed of this little guy, but he sure looks like a miniature Red Irish Setter!  Red is a N/M, under 1 yr old, very sweet and we think housebroken - he goes to the door when he wants out.  He's playful in his foster home, but his foster brother is a bit too rough for him!  He loves to sleep in the bed with his foster mom at night.  Riley was rescued after being dumped in the country TWICE!  Call ARF if you would like to meet Riley, 918-766-0991.  (12/6/09)

Callie - ADOPTED!! S/F Shih Tzu Mix (with Maltese or Lhasa Apso), 6 mos old, housebroken, very sweet.  Call ARF at 918-766-0991 to meet Callie.

Charley     *****SPECIAL NEEDS*****ADOPTED!!
Charley is a N/M Poodle/Shih Tzu mix who was possibly born in a puppy mill.  At only 7 months old he was
in need of major surgery--he was diagnosed with grade 2-3 Medial Patella Laxation (knee joints pops out of place).  Thanks to Charley's generous friends, he has undergone surgery on both knees and has fully recovered!

Charley is a real sweetheart, now just over a year old, housebroken, fond of ladies vs. men and will warm your heart!  Charley was adopted, but his owners returned him when he became nippy.  His ARF foster mom has been working with him to correct this behavior.  He needs a special person to love him, understand him and help him stop the biting!  This is why we are calling Charley a "special needs" dog.  If you would like to meet Charley, call ARF at 918-766-0991.

Mia--ADOPTED!!
Mia (aka Corky) was rescued as a stray in the country on 7/20/09.  She is a female medium size black/tan/white Terrier Mix estimated to be 1-2 yrs old.  She weighs 35 lbs, very sweet, friendly, doesn't mind cats, knows how to sit/stay.  She is even housebroken, crate-trained and walks well on a leash!  She also seems to get along fine with other dogs and has shown no type of aggression.  Mia has been spayed, tested negative for heartworms and has had all vaccinations including Bordetella.  She is on heartworm preventative and flea/tick preventative and is ready for adopton!  Call ARF at 918-766-0991 to meet Mia.

Butters --ADOPTED!!
Rescued as a stray, Butters is a S/F blonde Terrier mix, 20 lbs, heartworm tested negative and has received all vaccinations including Bordetella.  Her foster mom has already housebroken her and she's ready for her new home!  Call ARF at 918-766-0991 to meet Butters.

Gracie--ADOPTED!!
This sweet girl "was dumped" when pregnant, had puppies and rescuer brought her to ARF tied in the back of a pickup in 100+ degrees.  She was literally at death's door.  We named her "Gracie".  She has been vet checked (heartworm negative) and is estimated to be 2 yrs old.  She is a mini white Schnauzer, blind in one eye and housebroken.  Once she has regained her strength and health, she will be spayed and ready for adoption.

Laurie--ADOPTED!!
Laurie is a S/F Maltese/Shih Tzu (?) mix, 6 months old, current on vaccinations and has a clean bill of health.  Likes other dogs, cats and kids.   Laurie (previously known as Sissy) was a "throw away" dog because she was not housebroken.  Her foster mom is helping her with that!  Call ARF at 918-766-0991 to meet Laurie.  (5/20/09)

Shylow--ADOPTED!!
Shylow is a Border Collie/Shepherd Mix (?) puppy found in an oil field with bite wounds.  This is the only surviving pup of 3.  Vet checked/treated, estimated 12 wks old as of 4/18/09, received 1st set of shots and wormed.  Was treated with Revolution and given calcium pills for nutrition.  Currently in foster care.   The big dogs he's lived with have showed him how to use the doggie door and he thinks he's a big dog!  He's curious about cats, but does not chase them.  He's good with kids, but really lights up around other dogs.  Call ARF, 918-766-0991 to meet Shylow.  (5/2/09)

Heidi--ADOPTED!!
Heidi is a S/F Golden Retriever Mix, rescued from being "lost" on 2/15/09, estimated 10 months old,
59 lbs, full of energy and a beautiful dog.  We have learned that she is housebroken and definitely wants
to be an inside/outside dog.  She has pretty good manners inside.  Heidi likes her friend Bud (video below),
but is aggressive towards cats.  She may need to be the only dog in the household (we haven't figured
this one out yet!).  She is crate trained  and has learned a few tricks.  She enjoys walks and just being
with people.  She always has a smile and seems to really like kids--she's a big pup herself!  Heidi has
been vet checked, heartworm tested (negative) and is ready for her new forever home! Call ARF to meet
