About ARF...
Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) of Bartlesville was started by two individuals who were rescuing abandoned animals in our community. They wanted to make a difference in the lives of animals by taking care of them until new homes could be found. Others soon wanted to help and our membership has grown!

ARF has a dream of building a rescue/adoption sanctuary for abandoned animals. Those who are never adopted can live out a happy life with others of their own kind, food, water, shelter and love. This dream will soon become reality, as we have acquired 18 acres east of Bartlesville for our sanctuary.  Now we are working on fundraising donations for construction and operations.  How quickly this happens will be determined by the support of our community and our ability to acquire outside grants.

ARF exists by donations from the public and private foundations. We do not receive assistance from the City, State or Federal Government.

We are very proud of our Spay/Neuter Program to help reduce the number of unwanted litters in the Bartlesville area. Our $25 discount coupons are available at all local Veterinarians upon request. This program is funded by donations earmarked for the program.

How is ARF different from the WCSPCA?

This is our most popular question!  People tend to think that we are part of the Washington County    SPCA (WCSPCA), but we are totally separate organizations at separate locations with the same goals.  These goals include providing care for animals in need, helping animals find good homes through adoption and educating the public on the importance of spay and neuter as the only solution to pet overpopulation.

We are all in this together!  Both ARF and the WCSPCA benefit from the work done by each other!  It is only through the reduction of animals born will we ever be able to reduce the number of animals that end up in need of help due to irresponsible pet owners.

Where is ARF located?

We have an adoption/viewing location called ARF's Animal House at 127 NE Washington Blvd., in Bartlesville.  We are just north of the intersection of Tuxedo Blvd. and Washington Blvd (Hwy 75) in a strip mall with a blue store front.

We are not open on a daily basis, as we do not have a paid staff and rely on volunteers to run Animal House. Animal House is open Monday through Saturdays from 1:00pm - 4:00pm, or any time by appointment.  We encourage you to stop by for a visit, learn about what we do and how you might be able to help us help those that are in need of our help.

Our facility only houses free-roaming cats.  Dogs are not housed at ARF's Animal House, as our current location cannot accommodate dogs due to space limitations.  Our rescue dogs are kept in foster homes.  We will be happy to show any ARF dog by appointment.
